Makar to remain out for Avalanche in Game 2 of Western Final

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar will miss Game 2 of the Western Conference Final against the Vegas Golden Knights at Ball Arena on Friday at 8 p.m. ET, marking his second consecutive absence due to an upper-body injury. Makar did not play in Colorado's 4-2 Game 1 loss on Wednesday, the first playoff game he has ever missed due to injury in his career. Jack Ahcan filled in for Makar in Game 1, logging 7:34 of ice time and finishing minus-1, while Makar has recorded five points in nine playoff games this season averaging nearly 25 minutes of ice time.
