Malaysia weighs up F1 2026 round as rescheduled Bahrain GP plan fades
Malaysia's government is conducting a feasibility study into hosting a last-minute Formula 1 grand prix after plans to reschedule the Bahrain Grand Prix in early October appear to be collapsing. The Bahrain and Saudi Arabia rounds were originally disrupted by the US-Israeli war on Iran, and despite a ceasefire last month, renewed regional hostilities have made a Bahrain recovery race all but impossible. Formula 1 is now investigating alternative venues, with Malaysia emerging as a leading candidate for a potential 2026 round.
