Manchester City guilty over Premier League charges after £900m of ‘sham’ contracts

Manchester City have been found guilty of all Premier League financial rule breaches covering a nine-year period, with an independent commission determining the club artificially inflated their revenues by more than £900 million through 'sham contracts' with commercial partners. The club was also found to have filed inaccurate accounts to conceal the true state of their finances, violations that would have triggered significant breaches of both Premier League and UEFA spending limits had the figures been reported accurately. Manchester City have announced they will appeal against the verdict before the Friday deadline.
