Marathon marks a turning point for a Palestinian runner released from an Israeli prison

Mohamad Al-Assi, a Palestinian runner recently released from an Israeli prison, participated in a marathon in Bethlehem on Friday, running along the concrete barrier separating Israel from the occupied West Bank. The event drew thousands of participants, with people from other parts of the world also running in solidarity with Palestinians. A separate, shorter race was simultaneously held in Gaza as part of the broader event.
