Marino signs 8-year, $54 million contract with Mammoth

Defenseman John Marino has signed an eight-year, $54 million contract extension with the Utah Mammoth, carrying an average annual value of $6.75 million beginning in the 2027-28 season. The 29-year-old had a career-high 36 points (4 goals, 32 assists) in 80 regular-season games last season, ranking third on the team in average ice time at 20:12 per game. General manager Bill Armstrong praised Marino as an elite puck mover and expressed confidence that the defenseman, whose body he considers still fresh, can make a major impact over the full length of the deal.
