British boxer Mark Chamberlain defeated Ireland's Pierce O'Leary via knockout in the 10th round to claim the IBO light-welterweight belt, knocking O'Leary down twice during the fight. Chamberlain himself was knocked down in the seventh round after a powerful body shot from O'Leary in front of a capacity crowd in Dublin. The victory handed O'Leary his first professional defeat.
