Mark Wood retires from international cricket

England and Durham fast bowler Mark Wood, 36, has announced his retirement from international cricket after a career spanning over a decade. A two-time World Cup winner (2019 ODI and 2022 T20), Wood took 119 wickets in 38 Tests, 80 wickets in 70 ODIs, and 54 wickets in 38 IT20s, making him England's sixth-highest T20 wicket-taker. He made his Test debut against New Zealand at Lord's in 2015 and was renowned as one of the fastest bowlers of his generation, regularly exceeding 95mph.
