Markéta Vondroušová, the 2023 Wimbledon champion and former world No. 6, has been handed a four-year ban from professional tennis after refusing an out-of-competition doping test conducted at her home in early December 2025. An independent hearing on June 11 considered her explanations that stress, mental health issues, and safety concerns influenced her decision, but she received the maximum punishment for the offence. The ban, issued by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), runs until 2030, when Vondroušová will be 30 years old.
