Maseko strike sends South Africa into first World Cup knockouts with win over South Korea
Thapelo Maseko's 63rd-minute strike gave South Africa a 1-0 victory over South Korea on Wednesday, securing their first-ever World Cup knockout stage berth. South Africa finish second in Group A with four points behind winners Mexico, and will face co-hosts Canada in Los Angeles on 28 June. South Korea, who started without Son Heung-min, finish with three points and remain in contention as one of the eight best third-placed teams.
