Matt Fitzpatrick rolls winning form into Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Brooks Koepka off on right foot

At the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St. Andrews, Scotland, Michael Stewart (world ranked 979) and Jack Buchanan (both outside the top 750) shared the first-round lead at 7-under par, with Stewart notably stepping up from a Tartan Pro Tour event just the day before. Stewart, a 36-year-old Scot playing at Carnoustie, recorded an eagle and multiple birdies in his opening round. Matt Fitzpatrick and Brooks Koepka were among the notable higher-ranked players also competing in the DP World Tour event, which is played across three iconic Scottish courses.
