Matt Olson plays in 741st straight game with Braves to become the franchise's Iron Man
Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson set a franchise record on Friday, July 11, 2026, by playing in his 741st consecutive game for the team during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals, surpassing Dale Murphy's previous record of 740 consecutive games set between 1981 and 1986. Olson, who joined the Braves as a free agent before the 2022 season after six seasons with the Oakland Athletics, has started 740 of his 741 games with Atlanta. Braves manager Walt Weiss called it 'quite an accomplishment.'
