Mauricio Pochettino has a USMNT roster dilemma, and the 2028 Olympics are making it more complicated

USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino faces a difficult roster selection decision ahead of the Nations League quarterfinals against Haiti, with his strikers returning to fitness and approximately a dozen newcomers having impressed during the fall. He must also balance squad selections with Steve Cherundolo's under-23 program, which is building toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The dual demands of the senior national team and the Olympic development pathway are complicating Pochettino's roster planning.
