Max Burgin set for London rematch with Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi

British 800m runner Max Burgin will face Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi at the Novuna London Athletics Meet on July 18 at London Stadium. The pair previously met at the same venue, where Wanyonyi won in a meeting record of 1:42.00 and Burgin finished third in a personal best of 1:42.36. The 23-year-old Burgin arrives in strong form after a breakthrough 2025 season that included reaching the World Championship final, finishing sixth, and improving his personal best to 1:42.29.
