Max Verstappen seeks to emulate Niki Lauda as Formula 1 World Champion winner of 24H Nuburgring

Max Verstappen is competing in the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours this weekend, aiming to become only the second Formula 1 World Champion to win the race. The only F1 champion to have achieved this feat is Niki Lauda, who won the 1973 edition driving an Alpina Racing Team BMW 3.3 CSL alongside Hans Peter Joisten. Verstappen, already a four-time F1 World Champion, would surpass Lauda's achievement if he takes victory at the Nordschleife.
