Max Verstappen’s Final Dutch GP Ends in Violent Lap 1 Crash
Max Verstappen crashed heavily on the opening lap of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, hitting a damp kerb on the banked final corner and slamming into the outside wall, prompting a red flag and race suspension. The track was left slippery after rain fell approximately 40 minutes before the start, with all 22 drivers opting for slick tires despite the conditions. Verstappen was uninjured and able to exit the car himself, but the incident ended what was his final appearance at his home Dutch Grand Prix.
