
Max Whitlock to miss Commonwealth Games
Three-time Olympic gold medallist and gymnast Max Whitlock, 33, has withdrawn from the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow due to a hand injury sustained in training. Whitlock announced his withdrawal on Instagram on Monday, stating he was unable to recover in time despite his best efforts. The pommel horse specialist had previously won 10 medals across three Commonwealth Games (2010, 2014, 2018), including four golds, and is also a six-time Olympic medallist.
