McDavid off to torrid start with Babcock’s ‘detailed, structured’ Oilers

Connor McDavid leads the NHL with 23 points (6 goals, 17 assists) in just eight games, marking the best eight-game offensive start by any player since Mario Lemieux recorded 27 points for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1995-96. The Edmonton Oilers have gone 6-1-1 under new coach Mike Babcock, whose 'detailed, structured' system has been credited as a key factor in the team's strong start. McDavid, 29, already has two five-point games this season, the 15th and 16th of his career.
