McDermott blames Rugby League World Cup format as England face exit

England Rugby League head coach Brian McDermott has admitted his side's chances of reaching the Rugby League World Cup semi-finals are in serious jeopardy. McDermott cited both the tournament's format and England's opening defeat to Tonga as the key factors behind their potential early exit. The loss has left England in a precarious position with little margin for error in the remainder of the group stage.
