McDonald gets back in the old routine after week to savour at The Open

Scottish PGA trainee Jack McDonald made the cut at The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, playing all four rounds and finishing with an eight-over par aggregate after a closing 74. The highlight of his week was a hole-out eagle-two from around 115 yards on the 10th hole during his second round. The 33-year-old, who trains under Whitecraigs head pro David Orr, has stepped back from touring golf to focus on his PGA training and has returned to work at the Whitecraigs pro shop following the tournament.
