McIlroy handed 2-shot penalty, admits video 'doesn't look very good'

Rory McIlroy received a two-shot penalty during the first round of the Abu Dhabi Championship after officials ruled he improved his lie on the par-4 12th hole, where he had already made a double-bogey. The penalty turned his score of 6 on that hole into an 8, leaving him with a 2-under 70, eight shots behind leader Francesco Laporta who carded a bogey-free 62. McIlroy, who is chasing a record-tying eighth Race to Dubai title, denied any intent to break the rules but acknowledged that video of the incident 'doesn't look very good.'
