McLaren Expects ‘Entirely new car’ for F1 Miami GP
McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella has confirmed the team plans to introduce an entirely new MCL40 across the upcoming Miami and Canadian Grand Prix weekends, with sweeping aerodynamic upgrades. The reigning two-time World Champions (2024 and 2025) have struggled in 2026, finishing third in Australia, suffering a double DNF in China due to electrical failures, and currently sitting third in the constructors' championship, 89 points behind leaders Mercedes. Stella indicated the major overhaul was always planned for the North American rounds, and that most competitors would likely be bringing similar levels of upgrades.
