McTominay sidelined due to minor heart surgery

Scott McTominay will undergo corrective cardiac surgery after being diagnosed with a mild benign arrhythmia, an irregular heart rhythm considered non-serious. The Napoli midfielder will miss the club's September fixtures, including a Champions League match against Arsenal, having played in both of Napoli's Serie A games this season before being substituted in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Como. He will also sit out Scotland's four Nations League matches in September under new head coach Sebastien Pocognoli, against Slovenia (twice), Switzerland, and North Macedonia.
