Britain's Cam Norrie, seeded 20th, retired injured from his French Open first-round match against unseeded wildcard Adolfo Daniel Vallejo of Paraguay, having lost the opening set tie-break 9-7 after missing four set points, then falling 2-0 in the second set. Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev was stunned by wildcard Adam Walton at the same tournament. Fellow Brit Jacob Fearnley also exited, losing to Argentina's Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-2 7-6 (7-0) 7-6 (9-7).
