Melanson diagnosed with vascular aneurysm, out indefinitely for Kraken
Seattle Kraken forward Jacob Melanson, 23, has been diagnosed with an anterior mediastinum hematoma with vascular pseudo aneurysm and will be out indefinitely. The injury occurred during the Kraken's season opener on October 1, a 6-1 win over the Calgary Flames, where Melanson logged 9:31 of ice time. Melanson, who recorded five points and 32 penalty minutes in 36 games last season, will be closely monitored by Seattle's medical staff as he undergoes a gradual progression to return to hockey.
