Mercedes reveals conclusions after costly DNFs in recent F1 races
Mercedes has identified a battery issue responsible for recent Formula 1 retirements affecting both George Russell, who retired while leading the Canadian Grand Prix, and Kimi Antonelli, who retired from second place at the Barcelona GP. The team is working on a permanent fix, with team principal Toto Wolff vowing to 'leave no stone unturned' to resolve the unreliability. Customer team McLaren has also experienced separate electrical problems, including Lando Norris retiring from Monaco and both Norris and Oscar Piastri failing to start the Chinese GP.
