Messi scores again as Argentina beat Jordan. Do world champions have perfect pathway to semi-finals?

Argentina defeated Jordan 3-1 in their final World Cup group game in Dallas, with goals from Giovani Lo Celso (free-kick), Lautaro Martínez (penalty), and Lionel Messi (free-kick) after Mousa Tamari pulled one back for Jordan. Messi, initially benched by coach Lionel Scaloni, came on as a substitute and scored his sixth goal of the tournament, becoming the first player in World Cup history to score in seven consecutive World Cup games and taking his overall World Cup tally to 19. Argentina will face Cape Verde in Miami on July 3 in the knockout stage.
