Miami tops 1st CFP rankings as date with No. 11 Notre Dame looms

The undefeated Miami Hurricanes (8-0) claimed the top spot in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season, bolstered by Heisman Trophy contenders quarterback Darian Mensah and wide receiver Malachi Toney. Miami's next major test comes against No. 11 Notre Dame, a matchup that will serve as a significant early test of their CFP credentials. The rankings set the stage for a highly anticipated clash between two prominent programs.
