Michael Carrick to stay in charge of Manchester United for Roma game

Michael Carrick will remain as Manchester United's caretaker manager for their Champions League match against Roma at Old Trafford on Tuesday, following a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday. The loss leaves United 17th in the Premier League, having gone nine games without a win — their worst start to a season since 1988. Carrick's position is expected to be reviewed during the upcoming international break, after United's next Premier League fixture against Aston Villa the following Sunday.
