Miles Russell, a 17-year-old Jacksonville Beach native, will become the youngest player from the Jacksonville area to compete in a men's golf major when he tees off at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills on June 18, 2026. At 17 years, seven months, and 17 days old, he breaks the previous record held by David Duval, who was 18 years, seven months, and five days when he played in the 1990 U.S. Open. Duval went on to become the most prolific winner among First Coast natives with 13 PGA Tour titles.
