Millwall looking to end 36-year wait for top-flight football
Millwall, managed by Alex Neil, are chasing promotion to the top flight of English football for the first time since they were relegated in 1989-90, a wait of 36 years. Having finished third in the Championship, just one point behind runners-up Ipswich Town, the Lions face a two-legged play-off tie against Hull City, beginning with an away match in East Yorkshire on Friday. A successful promotion would make this squad the first to match the legendary 1987-88 side managed by the late John Docherty.
