Milner retires after setting record for Premier League appearances
James Milner, 40, has announced his retirement from professional football after a 24-season career in which he set the all-time Premier League appearance record with 658 matches, surpassing Gareth Barry's previous mark by five appearances. The former Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton midfielder also earned 61 England caps during his career. Milner's honours include three Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, two FA Cups, two EFL Cups, and one FIFA Club World Cup.
