MLB Trade Deadline Grades: Skubal Joins Dodgers, Yankees Get A Big Bat

Ahead of the August 4, 2026 MLB trade deadline (6 p.m. ET), the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired reigning back-to-back Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for three prospects: outfielder Zyhir Hope and pitchers River Ryan and Brady Smith. The Yankees also added young slugger Luis Garcia Jr., while other notable deals sent Freddy Peralta to the Rays, Luis Castillo to the White Sox, and Kevin Gausman to the Cubs.
