MLBPA calls to preserve current system of draft

The MLBPA has called to preserve the current MLB draft system after MLB proposed cutting the draft from 20 to 12 rounds and slashing amateur signing bonuses by more than $150 million. MLB's proposal would also prevent high school players from entering the draft. The players' union is pushing back against these changes while advocating for expanding opportunities for younger players.
