MLB's No. 39 Draft prospect Daniel Jackson of Georgia wins 2026 Golden Spikes Award
Daniel Jackson, a catcher from the University of Georgia, has won the 2026 Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the United States. Jackson made history as the first catcher in NCAA Division I history to record 25 home runs and 25 stolen bases in the same season, while also winning the SEC triple crown with a .379 batting average, 32 home runs, and a school-record 87 RBI. Ranked No. 39 in the 2026 MLB Draft, Jackson is the second Georgia player to win the award, following Charlie Condon in 2024.
