More than 200 countries endorse Infantino for fourth Fifa term despite Balogun scandal

Gianni Infantino has secured formal endorsement from more than 200 of Fifa's 211 member associations for re-election as president, putting him on course for a fourth term at the Fifa congress in March. Only a handful of associations have yet to send letters of support, with Germany being the most high-profile holdout among a small number of European countries. This comes despite ongoing unrest following the scandal surrounding Folarin Balogun's reprieve from suspension, with Uefa also having made its opposition clear on a number of issues.
