MotoGP British GP: Martin on pole with Marquez only sixth

MotoGP points leader Jorge Martin claimed pole position for the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, edging Trackhouse rider Raul Fernandez by just 0.021 seconds with a last-lap effort. Fernandez had briefly appeared set for his first MotoGP pole after breaking Marco Bezzecchi's circuit record, but factory Aprilia rider Martin's late run denied him. Marc Marquez ended up sixth on the grid, while Aprilia dominated qualifying with all four of their riders finishing inside the top five.
