Jorge Martin won the British Grand Prix MotoGP Sprint at Silverstone on Saturday, leading every lap from pole position to finish 1.5 seconds ahead of Ai Ogura, with factory Aprilia teammate Marco Bezzecchi completing an all-Aprilia podium in third. Martin, who had set a new qualifying lap record of 1:56.160, extended his championship lead to 17 points with the lights-to-flag victory. Bezzecchi's podium finish was particularly notable as he had fractured his collarbone and sustained a knee injury in a crash during qualifying at the Sachsenring in July, requiring surgery and rehabilitation during the summer break.
