Murphy signs 5-year, $20.5 million contract with Oilers

Defenseman Connor Murphy has signed a five-year, $20.5 million contract (AAV $4.1 million) with the Edmonton Oilers. The 33-year-old recorded 17 points across 80 regular-season games split between the Chicago Blackhawks and Oilers this season, after being acquired by Edmonton in a trade on March 2. Murphy added three points in six Stanley Cup Playoff games before the Oilers were eliminated by the Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference First Round.
