NASCAR throws red flag for a wreck at Michigan involving Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott that was so violent it bent the wall
A violent crash between Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott forced NASCAR to red flag Sunday's race at Michigan Speedway with 50 laps remaining on June 7, 2026. The two drivers were battling for second place after a restart when Elliott got loose and made contact with Bell, sending Bell's car into the wall at nearly a 45-degree angle with such force that it bent the SAFER barrier wall inward. Both drivers were able to exit their cars immediately, and Elliott took responsibility, stating 'Totally my fault, I feel really bad for Bell.'
