NCAA acknowledges Michigan Hail Mary vs WMU should not have happened
The NCAA acknowledged on Wednesday, September 16, that the controversial ending of Michigan football's game against Western Michigan (WMU) should not have occurred, stating that instant replay protocol was not properly followed after an apparent game-ending incompletion by Bryce Underwood. Had the proper protocols been followed, WMU would have won 12-7 over the then-16th-ranked Wolverines. Instead, Michigan was allowed to complete a Hail Mary play that handed them the victory.
