NCAA Division I softball committee announces 2026 championship field

The NCAA Division I Softball Championship Subcommittee announced the 64-team field for the 2026 NCAA Division I Softball Championship on May 11, 2026, in Indianapolis. Thirty-one conferences received automatic qualification berths, while the remaining 33 spots were filled with at-large selections. For the first time, the top 32 teams were seeded nationally in pods of four, with the top 16 seeds given the opportunity to host.
