NCAA on track to expand to a 76-team March Madness bracket for next season

The NCAA is on track to expand its March Madness basketball tournament bracket from 68 to 76 teams, adding eight additional teams for the next season. A formal decision on the expansion could come as early as May. The change would represent the first significant enlargement of the tournament field since 2011, when it grew from 65 to 68 teams.
