Imola has emerged as a leading candidate to host the 2026 Formula 1 season finale if Middle East races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi are cancelled, according to The Race. Escalating tensions between the United States and Iran have already ruled out Bahrain's return to the calendar, and F1 is simultaneously pursuing a Malaysian Grand Prix on October 4 as a replacement for that slot. F1 chiefs are looking to secure a backup venue to follow the Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 21 should the end-of-season Middle Eastern events be unable to proceed.
