New York City to celebrate Knicks NBA Finals victory in ticker-tape parade

New York City is hosting a ticker-tape parade on Thursday, June 19, 2026, to celebrate the New York Knicks winning their first NBA championship since 1973. The parade began near a downtown park at 10 a.m. ET and proceeded north up Broadway through lower Manhattan. Knicks point guard Jose Alvarado, a New York native and lifelong Knicks fan, appeared on Good Morning America ahead of the celebration to express how meaningful the victory is to him and his family.
