Newcastle United unveil 'new' crest for first time since 1988 - as chiefs reveal 'flaws' behind iconic former logo

Newcastle United have unveiled a new club crest for the first time since 1988, after it was approved by a fan vote. The redesign was backed by 64.8 per cent of 27,348 eligible supporters, which included men's and women's season ticket holders and Mags and Mags+ members. Club chiefs also revealed perceived 'flaws' in the previous iconic logo that motivated the change.
