NFL team owner acquires stake in Aston Martin

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has acquired a minority stake in the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, being appointed Vice Chairman of the team's Board of Directors with immediate effect. Johnson, an American billionaire and former US Ambassador to the UK, also holds a 43% stake in Premier League club Crystal Palace and purchased the New York Jets in 2000. The announcement was made ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, with Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll retaining all day-to-day management responsibilities.
