NFL won’t hold supplemental draft in 2026, making Brendan Sorsby ineligible this season
The NFL has decided not to hold a supplemental draft in 2026, according to a letter reviewed by The Athletic, effectively making Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby ineligible to enter the league this season. Sorsby, 22, had applied for the supplemental draft on June 15 after facing NCAA gambling rule violations and taking an indefinite leave of absence from Texas Tech in April to enter a residential treatment program for gambling addiction. The NFL last selected a player in the supplemental draft in 2019.
