Ngetich breaks women-only world half marathon record at World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen

Kenya's Agnes Ngetich set a women-only world half marathon record of 1:05:15 at the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, winning by 50 seconds ahead of compatriot Veronica Loleo. The 25-year-old's time bettered the previous women-only record of 1:05:16 set by Peres Jepchirchir in Gdynia in 2020. The victory gave Ngetich her second global title of 2026, adding to her world cross-country crown claimed in Tallahassee in January, and she now holds three world records across distances.
