NHL EDGE stats: Andersen’s case for Conn Smythe Trophy

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen has built a strong case for the Conn Smythe Trophy with a 12-1 record through 13 playoff games and a league-leading .931 save percentage (minimum five games played). The 36-year-old holds a perfect 1.000 save percentage on long-range shots (47-for-47) and a .950 save percentage on perimeter shots, both the best among goalies with at least five playoff appearances. Andersen became only the third goalie in NHL history to record 12 wins in his first 13 playoff games, joining Ken Dryden (1976) and Gerry Cheevers (1970), as Carolina reached the Stanley Cup Final with fewer than two losses for the first time since 1987.
