NHL on Prime ‘Wednesday Night Hockey’ excited to ‘innovate’ viewer experience
Amazon Prime Video is launching 'Wednesday Night Hockey' in Canada as part of a 12-year NHL broadcasting deal, featuring 27 national regular-season games this season plus playoff coverage. The debut game airs September 28, 2026, at Scotiabank Arena with the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the New York Islanders at 7:30 p.m. ET, spotlighting top draft picks Gavin McKenna (No. 1, 2026 Draft) and Matthew Schaefer (No. 1, 2025 Draft). The broadcasts will introduce a 'Home Ice Access' feature and offer both English and French language options.
